Membership Types

Join PNACOC and be part of a community that promotes growth, development, and empowerment of nurses.

 

PNACOC consists of Filipino American Registered Nurses (RNs) residing in Orange County and/or within neighboring counties in Southern California. The members are classified as follows:

 

  • Active

A professional registered nurse (RN) of Philippine ethnic origin, granted a license to practice in the state of California; residing in Orange County and/or neighboring counties in Southern California, and who paid the required PNACOC membership dues and PNAA national membership dues. Active members shall have the following rights and privileges:

  • Right to vote , make nominations, and stand for elective office

  • Serve as a Chairman of a Standing Committee

  • Represent PNACOC at Regional and National conventions

  • Attend conferences, seminars, and training offered by the association

  • Professional recognition at the annual Nurse Excellence Awards in the following categories:

    • Administrative

    • Clinical

    • Education

    • Research

    • Community Health

    • Nursing Informatics

    • Entrepreneur, and

    • Advanced Nursing Practice

  • Opportunity to apply for Scholarship Awards

 

  • Associate/Students

A professional RN of non-Philippine ethnic origin licensed to practice in the country of origin or any state/territory of the United States, retired RNs, Licensed Vocational Nurses, Allied Health Professionals, and students who has paid the required chapter membership dues. Associate members shall have the following rights and privileges:

  • All the rights and privileges of an active member except the right to vote, make nominations, hold office, and chair committees

  • Earn Continuing Education (CE) units upon registration and payment of fees

  • Student membership is any student who is currently enrolled in an accredited Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science in Nursing and allied health programs

  • Allied Health Professionals and Student members will NOT earn Continuing Education (CE) units, but will receive a Certificate of Attendance/Completion of Education.

 

  • Lifetime Members (please contact us directly) 

Past Philippine Nurses Association of America (PNAA) Presidents residing in California with demonstrated strong service and commitment  to the overall goals and initiatives of the PNAA and PNACOC. Lifetime PNACOC members shall have all the rights and privileges of membership and are exempt of PNACOC fees.

 

  • Honorary Members (please contact us directly)

Honorary membership is conferred to professional RN by virtue of a majority vote of the Executive Board for distinguished service/s rendered towards the achievement of the Association's  goals, and/or valuable assistance to the nursing profession and towards achieving the objectives of this association. Honorary members will NOT have any voting privileges, nor rights to make nominations, hold office, or chair committees. They do NOT have to pay for membership dues.
