PNACOC Strengthens Community Presence at the 3rd Orange County Philippine Independence Day Celebration

The Philippine Nurses Association of California – Orange County (PNACOC) proudly participated in the 3rd Orange County Philippine Independence Day Celebration held at Irvine Valley College on June 14, 2025. The annual event brought together community organizations, businesses, civic leaders, and families in a vibrant celebration of Filipino heritage, culture, and unity.

This marked PNACOC’s second consecutive year of participation, reaffirming the organization’s commitment to community engagement, health promotion, and service to the Filipino-American community in Orange County.

Throughout the day, PNACOC members welcomed visitors to the organization’s booth, where they provided valuable health education resources, promoted Alzheimer’s disease awareness, and shared information about the importance of early detection, caregiver support, and available community resources. Attendees had the opportunity to learn about brain health, dementia prevention strategies, and ongoing advocacy efforts supporting individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s disease.

In addition to health education, the event served as an opportunity for PNACOC to conduct a membership drive, connecting with nurses, nursing students, healthcare professionals, and community members interested in advancing the organization’s mission. Volunteers highlighted the many benefits of membership, including professional development, leadership opportunities, mentorship, networking, community outreach, and advocacy initiatives.

The celebration provided an excellent platform for PNACOC to showcase its dedication to promoting health equity, supporting community wellness, and empowering Filipino nurses to make a meaningful impact beyond the healthcare setting. Through conversations with attendees, the organization strengthened existing partnerships and fostered new connections with individuals who share a passion for service and community leadership.
