PNACOC’s Commitment to Alzheimer’s Awareness and Community Outreach
Alzheimer’s disease profoundly affects individuals, families, and entire communities. As cognitive decline progresses, patients require increasing levels of care, impacting caregivers and healthcare systems. Families often experience emotional and financial strain, while communities face the challenge of providing adequate resources and support for those affected.
Recognizing the urgent need for education and support, the Philippine Nurses Association of California Orange County (PNACOC) is dedicated to expanding its community outreach efforts through partnerships with local advocacy groups. In the last quarter of 2024, PNACOC proudly partnered with the Alzheimer’s Association Orange County Chapter, strengthening its commitment to raising awareness and providing essential resources to those impacted by the disease.
As one of the recipients of the National Alzheimer’s Association Grant, PNACOC is actively working with the local Alzheimer’s Association chapter to develop future initiatives. These efforts will focus on education, advocacy, and support for both patients and caregivers in the Filipino American and broader communities. Through this collaboration, PNACOC aims to make a lasting impact by fostering resilience and improving the quality of life for those affected by Alzheimer’s.
